Have you ever had a dream come true? Well Pantera has, she will stand on her potty chair and sing into the bathroom mirror about her prince and how beautiful she is. When I ask her what she is doing her reply is "I'm having a dream come true." Duh, Mom why else would she be singing to herself in the bathroom?
A couple of days ago I thought she was having a dream come true in her room, you see they are kind of like seizures they happen at random, eventually you get used to it and let it run it's course. This dream come true seemed to be lasting very long and when I went to check on her she was singing nonsense out her window. Because the song did not involve her or her prince I asked what she was doing. She said "I am singing so the animals will come clean up my room, so please open my window so they can get in." Trying not to laugh to hard I had to tell her that animals really can't clean and they won't come when they are called like that. Then she did something I did not expect...she broke down crying. I felt so bad for her that I told her I would pretend to be an animal and help her clean up. She made me be a rat, go figure.
Pantera loves dressing up these days. She asks almost everyday if it's Halloween and changes what she is going to be almost everyday. This was great and cute until church on Sunday. I had pulled out some skirts looking for anything decent since she is growing so fast and she picked out one that she liked, that works. I found a shirt that matched and was looking for sandals (this is where we get into trouble) when she decided that tights were a must. Off white tights with white shoes...lovely. But she knew that the outfit was still missing something, a big purple Easter hat would have to do. Now I dress her up on a regular basis and I go ALL OUT for Easter, but this was the first time I have ever seen her strut her stuff like this! While she is usually friendly this particular Sunday she talked to EVERYONE. Then she would turn to me and say "They were thinking how beautiful I was huh Mom?" Yes, that was exactly what they were thinking Pantera.
Pantera has a fascination with skin color, if you are caucasian she considers you "grey" if you are of african heritage you are "black." She doesn't like being grey she wants to be "black and beautiful." On Tuesday night we were driving home from the church and Pantera asks me "Is Heavenly Father black or grey?" I said, "I'm not sure I don't remember what he looks like either, they say that we all look like him so maybe he is a mixture of the colors." Suddenly a little light clicked on for her and she says "I remember, his eyes are black and his feet are black, the rest of him is grey." That's exactly not what I meant...oh well.
